Horticulture Assessors

Due to expansion SLIC are looking to recruit at least 10 Horticulture Assessors. These roles are home based and can cover any region of England. We are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our team. Immediate starts available. We are looking to recruit assessors in the following regions: Warrington, Crewe, Oxford, Lincoln, Spalding, Luton, Crawley, Tumbridge Wells, Guildford, Salisbury, Trowbridge, York, Darlington, North Allerton, Manchester, Southhampton. Full case loads available for immediate start. We will consider full time, part time and self employed options.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: To deliver Level 2 and Level 3 Work-based Horticulture Apprenticeships; Instructing/training in a practical environment predominantly in employers premises; Assessing students and candidates using a variety of methods; Visiting students in a range of workplaces across a geographical region with flexible working hours and some overnight stays; Establishing contacts and appropiate networking on work sites with relevant staff; Providing educational guidance and participating in marketing, recruitment and admission of students; Preparing learning materials; Working with employers to identify students; Completing all paperwork as required by contract; contributing to the effectiveness of teams; Participating in personal professional development following appraisal of individual needs; Meeting agreed targets; Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Chief Executive; Attend staff meetings as required.

Gardening, Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Apprenticeships

1 - Location - High Wycombe. To undertake grounds maintainance, horticultural and related tasks within designated sites to required specifications and quality standards, as directed by the Contract Manager or Contract Supervisor. Duties to include: grass cutting; edge trimming; shrub and tree pruning; removal of weeds and litter from beds, plant containers, pathways and grassed areas; laying out and planting bedding; fine turf maintenance; the marking out and preparation of sports pitches; digging and mulching; the watering of plants, beds and plant containers; and the collection and removal of waste arising from such activities. 2 vacancies available. £2.60 per hour.

2 - Location - Slough. Duties to include: general office duties; updating the time and attendance software; answering phone enquiries; photocopying documents; sorting and opening post; obtaining information from the computer; maintaining records, filing systems and computer files; ordering stationery; assisting other office staff as necessary; any other duties as required. 2 positions available. £11,500 per Annum.

2 - Location - Chesterfield. Duties to include: filing correspondence; photocopying documentation; opening incoming post and producing stats on application packs; preparing outgoing post for collection and uploading postal figures on Royal Mail website; booking appointments for clients online; creating application packs; creating customer accounts; answer the telephones where required and take messages; support administrators where required; general housekeeping. 1 position available. £2.60 per hour.

Food, Drink and Hospitality Apprenticeships

1 - Location - Worksop. Variety of food preparation (hot and cold), food presentation, plating up, washing up crockery, glasses and cutlery, cooking under supervision, and stock control. £2.60 per hour. 1 vacancy available.

2 - Location - Worksop. Variety of meeting and greeting customers, table laying, table orders, table service, table clearance, till operation, restaurant cleaning and customer care and service. £2.60 per hour. 1 vacancy available.

3 - Location - Nottingham. Duties to include: learning food hygiene; learning to be organised in the kitchen; food preparation; plating up; cooking under supervision; health and food safety; stock control; going to the market to select fresh fish and vegetables. 2 vacancies available. £2.60 per hour.

4 - Location - Chesterfield. Vareity of preparing food from scratch; working with raw meat; making quiches and pies, cupcakes and bakewell tarts; cleaning down; and possible counter work. 1 vacancy available. £2.60 per hour.

6 - Location - Retford. Duties to include: to support the administration team with bookings/orders and co-ordination of conferences, meetings and events; assist the hospitality team in planning and preparation of the Learning and Development Centre for meetings/conferences/events; under supervision display food and refreshments in an appropiate manner; under supervision serve food and refreshments to customers using a range of service styles, to include silver service if required; assist in tasks and duties of other staff within the team during periods of staff leave/absence to ensure that an effective quality service is maintained at all times and contributing to the work of the team; undertake an annual appraisal to identify any necessary personal development required to meet the objectives of the team, and to further develop the post-holders’ skills and roles; to undertake essential training as required; to undertake monthly supervision sessions with line manager; and to attend tem meetings and away days. 1 vacancy available. £2.60 per week.
