SLIC spreads its wings into 2010.

SLIC Training continues to go from strength to strength and the good times look set to continue into 2010.

In International news, the managment team have been invited by UK Trade & Investment and key partner organisations in Poland & Czech Republic to travel internationally for meetings in the coming few months. This has been assisted thanks to a successful tender to the Leonardo Da Vinci fund with initial communications to the companies showing real opportunities for all involved. SLIC is confident that these meetings will lead to international opportunities for the company, and see it as a key step to help realise further collaborative working and training services in the international market over the coming years.

In local news, SLIC Training have been successful in providing Apprenticeships to Bolsover District Council through the Working Neighbourhoods Fund, a collaboration that will offer both parties scope for future partnerships as the organisations go forward into this new year. To cope with the increased workload, SLIC Training currently have three Apprentices undertaking level 3 qualifications in our busy Administration team.

On a final note SLIC Training would like to apologise to anyone who may have heard their Derbyshire tones performing “Merry Christmas Everybody!” on the North Derbyshire based Peak FM breakfast show over the Christmas 2009 period. Due to SLIC Training’s support for Peak FM throughout the year, Becky Measures requested a christmas recording for the listeners of her breakfast show. SLIC Training were more than happy to oblige, even convincing their Quality Manager, John Hall, to accompany their efforts on keyboard. A spokesperson for SLIC Training stated that “copies could be made available at the right price and that with a bit more practice SLIC would consider competing against the next X Factor winner for the Christmas Number 1 in 2010”.

SLIC Training would like to wish all present and prospective candidates and employers a prosperous New Year and we look forward to opportunities for collaborative working.
